Raveyard
Raveyard is the brain child of artists Zach Epstein and Bas Lisciandrano.
Raveyard is a collective.
Who gather once a year to connect through music and dance.
Raveyard 1.0
Raveyard 1.0 was the first edition of the Raveyard. This party was centred around Halloween and was our largest production to date. We hired a stage, a proper sound system and lighting equipment, whilst a custom façade was fabricated by Paul Lisciandrano, and thus the Raveyard was born.
The visuals I created for this were among my first works and was designed to set and forget, meaning no controller was necessary. The visuals reacted to the live music and illuminated not only the stage and dance floor but also the surrounding area, lighting up the trees creating a haunted atmosphere.
Raveyard Bunker
Raveyard Bunker was the second instalment of the Raveyard. The Bunker served as an addition to my birthday, as the spare bedroom in my house was converted into a non stop, high octane rave bunker. For 2 ephemeral hours the Bunker was space of dance, rhythm and expression, it was a moment which felt outside of time and space, all inside in a bedroom.
Our setup consisted of two separate systems, each containing a computer and a DDJ-FLX4 controller. One system connected to speakers and was used to control the music, the other system, connected to a projector and controlled the audio reactive visuals. This was first time I programmed visual to be performed using a controller, thus the visuals and the music were performed side by side.
Collaborations
Zach x House Is Home
House Is Home was a jazz-house event hosted by Plug Group Entertainment. The original poster was created by Raphael Cali and was sent to me to make audio reactive. I animated each musician to react to the music that was performed.
